Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

2017 Joliet Slammer Independence Celebration Festivities

The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy will host three days of celebrations for the Fourth of July. Promotions include a left-field BBQ picnic, two fireworks shows, and a military appreciation night.

The Slammers host their only Monday night game of the season on Monday, July 3 versus the River City Rascals at 7:05 pm. Fans can purchase individual tickets to the left-field BBQ picnic at the stadium for $25. The picnic will run from 6:00 pm when gates open until 7:30 pm and will include BBQ pulled pork, grilled brats, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, cookies, and soft beverages. A game ticket for the night is included in the picnic price and fireworks will follow the game.

On Tuesday, July 4, the Slammers will play at 7:05 pm. A post-game Fourth of July fireworks show will follow the game.

Military Appreciation Night is Wednesday, July 5 with the game set to start at 7:05 pm. Veterans and active military receive free tickets to the game by showing a form of ID at the Box Office. The night will also feature an Army swear-in ceremony pre-game. Future soldiers will be recognized at 6:30 pm on field. Post-game, kids can run the bases presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard.
