Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

97th Annual Marshall-Putnam County Fair!

The 97th Annual Marshall-Putnam Fair, “Surf’N-A-Fair”, will be held from July 11th to July 15th at the Marshall-Putnam County Fairgrounds. This fun event has been a tradition for almost a century, and has something for everyone to enjoy!

Some of the events included in this year’s fair are: A Pageant, Kick-off Dinner, Wine Tasting, Harness Racing, Family Fun Night, Demolition Derby, Tractor Pull, Rodeo, Antique Tractor Show, Live Entertainment, Kid Activities, and so much more!

The Kick Off Dinner for the fair will take place on Wednesday, July 11th from 5pm to 7:30pm. Dinner will include a pork chop or ribeye sandwich, all you can eat sweet corn, green beans, applesauce, peaches, and ice cream. Prices for the meal are $10 for adults, and $5 for children ages 10 and under.

One of the biggest events of the fair, the Pageant, will crown a 2018 “Miss Marshall-Putnam Fair” and Runner-Up, along with a “Jr. Miss” and Runner-Up, and a “Little Miss”, all of whom will be named “Fair Royalty”.
