Spring migration is the best time to see the widest variety of birds at Messenger Marsh. Species like bluebirds and brown thrashers will be arriving to nest and many warbler species are passing through on migration. An added bonus is that spotting these birds is easier with the leaves still emerging on the trees. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, join a naturalist for a hike through the preserve in search of these colorful birds. Bring along binoculars and be sure to dress for the weather. A limited supply of binoculars will be available for use. Participants will hike up to 2 miles on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Meet at Messenger Marsh Shelter. Ages 18 or older. No registration required.
