Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Whether you are just beginning or are an experienced birder, you won't want to miss this early morning bird hike. Join an experienced naturalist who will take you on a guided hike in search of summer birds. The varied habitat at Isle a la Cache preserve makes it a great place for bird-watching. The hike will follow the shores of the Des Plaines River. Isle a la Cache Museum is an accessible facility; outdoor activities will take place on paved paths and natural surfaces across 1 mile of uneven terrain. Ages 15 or older.
