Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

2018 Holiday Weekend

Plenty to do in an area near you! Kick off the month of December with the Holiday Weekend. Between Joliet, Lemont, and Ottawa, you shouldn’t have a problem finding some holiday fun for the family during this very special time of year. Check out some of the events going on around the area.


Saturday, December 1 - 3

Get into the Holiday Spirit at the Chris Kringle Market, in Ottawa, December 1 - 3. This unique Hometown Holiday Market will have activities for the whole family to enjoy, including visits from Santa, carolers, and vendors.


Friday, December 1

In conjunction with The Chris Kringle Market, The Reddick Mansion Association presents Candlelight Tours, from 6pm - 8pm. View the Mansion’s holiday display lit by candles and Christmas tree lights. Check out the Mansion’s gift shop and enjoy some holiday treats.


Saturday, December 2

Kick off the holiday season with an event the whole family will enjoy with the Hometown Holiday on Saturday, December 2, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Shopping, children's activities, visits and photo opportunities with Santa, and don't miss Frosty, Rudolph, and even the Grinch who will be strolling around downtown. Tree Lighting at 5:00 p.m.  

Saturday, December 2

On December 2, come on out for Movies at The Rialto!  The Rialto Square Theatre will be airing the classic Christmas movie, The Santa Claus, starting at 1pm.

Sunday, December 3

Come out to The Rialto Square Theatre to see two of Christian music’s powerhouse vocalists, Natalie Grant and Danny Gokey, in their Celebrate Christmas Tour. The two will share the stage in a fully-integrated set to ring in this year’s holiday season. The concert will begin at 7pm.
