Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Streator's Food Truck Festival - May 19

By attending the upcoming Streator Food Truck Festival on May 19, you'll help leave a a lasting impression on the city.  That impression will be made by 200 artists - as proceeds are going to fund the upcoming "Murals & Milestones" festival in Streator, Illinois starting in June.

May 19: Food Truck Festival

There's a bit of everything at this year's Food Truck Festival, including surf n' turf kabobs, loaded brisket nachos, handcrafted ice cream sandwiches, street tacos and fried hand pies.  Wash it all down with local craft brews and classic favorites, wines, ciders and non-alcoholic drinks as well.  Listen to multiple bands and DJ's, while shopping merchandise vendors offering an extensive selection of hand-crafted body products, local made pottery, outdoor space decor, upcycles and upscale thrift.

The time:  Saturday, May 19 from 12pm to 7pm
The place:  The 200 block of Hickory Street (south of Streator City Park in Streator, IL)

June 27 - July 1:  Murals & Milestones

200 artists are descending on Streator, IL.  They have five days to paint 16 murals depicting Streator and its iconic history.  The "Walldogs" are an internaitonally reknowned organization of sign and mural artists, who became famous for painting wall advertisements throughout history.  Each year, they hold a festival in a village of small town, and in 2018, their destination is Streator, IL.
