The 29th Annual Route 66 Car Show

The 29th annual WeatherTech Berwyn Route 66 Car show, taking place Saturday, August 24th, is known to be the area’s largest and most desired car show. This show takes visitors on a stroll through 500+ vintage and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. You can also expect live music, automobile flame-throwing and a cackle fest of dragsters that will have you on your toes.

This year’s schedule will begin in the morning with the car show registration. If you are looking to register your own car, you can do so advance online for $30. However, you can register on the day of the event which will be $40. Make sure you come before 10:00am because registration will close a that time. All registered participants will receive admission, t-shirts, dash plaque and goodie bag.

After registration, the car show judging will begin around 10:00am, followed by the military color guard and National Anthem. The flame throwing show starts at 11:30 am with a performance by the one and only Rick Saucedo who is a musician, singer songwriter and actor. As well as an Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Paul McCartney tribute artist. Being a Chicago native, Rick started his career back in the 60s where he first grew his love for music, listening to Elvis Presley and The Beatles. At a young age, he started his first band and from there, his career took off.

Up next on the stage there will be Svengoolie from Me-TV, who is the premier horror show icon of Chicago. He has appeared on a national basis on MeTV since April 2011. He brings you classic Universal horror films and more, being voted “Favorite Horror Host” multiple times in the national Rondo horror awards.

To end the eventful day, there will be a few raffles and the final award ceremony to announce all the winners. For more information you can visit, www.berwynrt66.com
