Bishops Hill - Winery
Bishops Hill Winery started making wine in a basement on the south side of Chicago. They were able to perfect their process over time. They take pride in making the best wine possible. In order to do this they add minimal sulfates to protect the wine. Malolactic fermentation is an important step in order to soften the acidity in all our wines. All their grapes come from California and they process the grapes from start to finish. Bishops Hill Winery purchased the current property off the Joliet Diocese and they have been converting it into wine making. “The Castle” was built in 1892 and is built entirely from limestone found in the Joliet Area with a German influence. There is a castle on the property along with a tunnel they have unearthed which is 90ft long by 16ft wide. The wine processing center will be built incorporating the tunnel. They will eventually store the wine in the tunnel which has a constant 57 degree temp which makes it environmentally friendly. There are currently 4 varietals to start. They make a high end Cabernet from the Amber Nolls region in California. They also make a Merlot, Malbec and Old Vine Zinfandel from the Lake Hills region in California which will be a mid-ranged priced option. They will also have an affordable wine priced in the low range consisting of blends and straight grapes. Come for a wine tasting, purchase a few bottles or let us host your next bridal shower, corporate party, fundraiser, wedding, or any other event as they have many spacious rooms throughout the Castle to make them suitable for small to large gatherings. Bishops Hill Winery is located just minutes away from Downtown Joliet and Historic Route 66.

Bronkberry Farms
The Bronk Farm has been in the family for 5 generations growing corn and soy beans. In 2012 Jennifer Bronk and husband Kevin Veen established Bronkberry Farms. We wanted our farm to be a “destination” for our neighbors and surrounding communities! We started with a roadside stand with a small greenhouse, a ¼ acre vegetable garden and a pumpkin patch. We have since “grown” into a 70×30’ barn & “state of the art” greenhouse. We are now growing vegetables and fruit including over 600 apple trees on 25+ acres. We invite you and your family to come on out to visit our farm, share in the experience, make family memories here and watch us grow! Bronkberry Farms has a plenty of parking and located just 1 mile east of Route 59 (Route 66) and 1 mile south of Caton Farm Road in Planifeld.

RT66 Old School Brewing
Rt 66 Old School Brewing is located on Route 66 and next to the Kankakee River. It is just steps from Water Street in Wilmington and located next to Nelly's Restaurant on Route 66. Stop in to try an ice cold beer in this new brewery. Proud owners Steve & Tina Nelson had a vision several years ago and FINALLY made it a reality. Steve and Tina are TRUE lovers of beer. Everywhere they travel, they checkout all the local breweries. That got them thinking to open a small hometown brewery in Wilmington! They’ve had a lot of coaching from a brewery in Bonita Springs, Florida, Momentum Brewhouse. The owner is originally from Illinois, where he once called South Wilmington and Kankakee his home! Steve & Tina are excited to share their passion with all of you! They look forward to making the brewery a homey, sit down/relax, hangout and play games type atmosphere.

Village of Hodgkins
The Village of Hodgkins prides itself on being a small town, centered on family values and with big hearts. Aside from a close-knit sense of community, Hodgkin’s location has played the most significant role in its growth. Hodgkin’s population exploded in the 1800's as Irish and Italian immigrants came to the area to work on the construction of the Illinois & Michigan Canal, located just one mile south. Industry has consistently shaped the direction of Hodgkins with nearby limestone quarries attracting stone companies and its strategic location a perfect fit for transportation industry hubs. UPS operates the largest package sorting center in the world, named CACH, which employs more than 9,000 people under one roof. In 1997, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad opened an intermodal freight facility in Hodgkins, taking advantage the prime location to move goods faster and more efficiently. Despite the comings and goings, Hodgkin’s remains a small family town within reach of the bustling western suburbs.
