MAPLE LEAF PARK HOSTS APPRAISER SESSION

Nationally recognized art and antique appraiser, Gary Piattoni will conduct four hours of appraisals at Maple Leaf Park in Earlville, Saturday, June 20 from noon until 4:00 p.m. The event is part of the More on 34 events scheduled along Route 34 from Sandwich to Galesburg the same weekend. Piattoni has appeared on ABC's Oprah Winfrey Show and on the PBS Antique Road Show for 13 years. He will be at the private recreation facility during the last day of the miles of sales event.

Appraisals will be conducted in Maple Leaf's meeting/party room for a wide variety of items, other than jewelry, coins or stamps. A $5 registration fee is required for each item submitted, with a limit of two for appraisal according to Marilyn Urso, Maple Leaf Park CEO. The 38-acre recreation facility is at 1318 East US 34 in Earlville. The Heritage Corridor CVB and LaSalle County Board Tourism Committee also sponsor the weekend festivities.

Ms. Urso pointed out that free space will once again be provided to vendors at Maple Leaf for the event, which takes place on Friday and Saturday June 19 and 20, respectively.

"Last year's visitors came from four states with many staying overnight in the area," Urso added. "Several vendors sold out the first day of the event and a number of buyers arrived in vans and pick-up trucks."

For more information about the appraiser or free space for vendors you can call Maple Leaf Park at 85-246-6200. For the entire weekend's activities, click on www.Moreon34.org website for information.
