Local Tourism Bureau wins Governors Award for website
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was awarded Best Tourism Website in the State of Illinois. Presented at the Annual Illinois Governor’s Conference on Tourism, The Governor's Awards program recognizes innovative tourism promotional and marketing initiatives from across the state.
“We are absolutely thrilled that our website was chosen,” notes Robert Navarro, President/CEO of the Heritage Corridor CVB, “We put a lot of time and energy into developing the site, and we plan to make it even better.”
The Gammon Group, a Joliet-based advertising agency, developed the website with the Heritage Corridor staff.
Entries into this prestigious competition include submissions from destination marketing organizations, trade associations, chambers of commerce and private sector companies. Awards are given based the creativity, originality, and quality of the materials that were produced. Heritage Corridor CVB competed in the same operating budget category as Chicago Convention and Visitor Bureau, Oak Park CVB and Springfield CVB.
Heritage Corridor CVB partners received additional honors: Best Visitor Guide-LaSalle County Marketing Coalition; Best Media Kit- Joliet Tourism Bureau (sports brochure); Best Audio Visual Joliet Tourism Bureau ( Tom Thayer radio campaign); and Best Newsletter- Starved Rock Lodge.
