OG Fun Size is Back

Pollyanna Brewing Company has brought back the original "Fun Size."  We've seen many varients of this, but the original reminds of snickers in a glass.  Chocolate, sea salt, vanilla, and more.  It's a classic, and you definitely want to make sure you get your hands on some.

Orange Dreamsicle Bar coming out of a same-colored beer - Juicesicle at Will County Brewing

My Favorite Flavor Back on Tap

If you're a frequent reader of the blog, you know that I'm obsessed with all things dteamscicle.  And, one of the best beers in that flavor is "Juicesicle" from Will County Brewing Company.  if you can imagine a dreamsicle in a glass, and if you can't look at the photo, this beer perfectly balances the orange and vanilla we all know and love.

Don't Let This One Get Away

Ike & Oak's "Almost Got Away" is a Chardonnay Barrel-Aged Sour Ale with notes of mango, watermelon and amped up with Kabosu, (Rare Japanese citrus fruit), providing a tart and fruity flavor. Giant pumpkin that says

A Giant Collaboration

Will County Brewing Company teamed up with Heap's Giant Pumpkin Farm for "Heap's Giant Pumpkin Ale".  Think pumpkin pie in a glass, this brew was made with home-basked Blue Moon Pumpkins.  The brewery is also releasing "Van Helsing's Revene", a perfectly-tart Beliner Weiss with Blood Orange, Pomegranate, and Tart Cherry.

Two cans of Black Horizon Brewing's Cake Crusher

A Trio from Black Horizon

Three beers dropping today at Black Horizon.  Midnight Fist Fight is a Hazy IPA.  Rocky Road Sugar Bomb is a Rocky Road-inspired Milkshake IPA.  And Cake Crusher (pictured) is a Golden Ale that tastes like cheesecake in a glass (vanilla, graham cracker, lactose and cheesecake flavor).  When you can't decide which one to choose, get them all!

Pollyanna's Dropping Three on Their Sixth Anniversary

Have you marked October 3rd down on your calendar?  That's the day that Pollyanna is dropping three releases for us, including the Nerd-inspired beer!

  • "Sixth Anniversary Lager":  A German Leichtbier coming in at 3.4% ABV.  That's actually the loweest ABV beer they've ever brewed.  Lots of hop flavor in this one, as it was dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Huell Melon hops.
  • "Bourbon Barrel Aged Personal Chain Letter with Coffee and Vanilla":  Personal Chain Letter is one of my favorite series from Pollyanna.  This variant is bringing the flavor from being barrel aged, added with freshly ground Tugboat Coffee and Vanilla Beans.
  • "NERD is the Word"Inspired by my favorite childhood candies, Nerd is the Word is a sour ale with strawberry, concord grape, and lactose.  Been looking forward to this one!

Three photos - German chocolate cake, cocoa, and toasted coconut.

Keyboard Warrior

Check out the ingredients on this one:  dark roasted barley, sweet caramel malt, decadent dark cocoa, a touch of pecan flour, and 75lbs of toasted coconut.  Metal Monkey's "Keyboard Warrior" is a German Chocolate Cake inspired beer that I can't wait to try!  We'll keep you posted as we hear more.

Brewers working to cut open pumpkins (for an eventual beer) at Mad Hatchet Brewing in Shorewood, IL.

These Beers will be Gourd-geous

I'm a little too proud of that pun.  The brewers over at Mad Hatchet are getting ready for Undead Gourd (pumpkin pie ale) and Return of the Gourd (pumpkin stout).
