View Photos Of The Past At Mendota Museum & Historical Society's Opening Weekend

The Mendota Museum & Historical Society will open for the season this weekend with a sweeping photographic opening exhibit and a new executive director. Doors open Saturday, April 10th, 2021, so be sure to come check it out.

The new exhibit Through the Camera Lens will display photos of people and places in and around Mendota. You will get the chance to see what life has been like in Mendota for the last 166 years.

Make sure to see how the camera has changed and evolved through the years with local photographer Justin Setchell, showing examples on display.

Do fashion trends never die? Has any key architecture changed over the years in Mendota? You will have to see the new exhibit displayed at Hume-Carnegie Museum to find out! Doors open from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th.

While attending the opening weekend, you may bump into the new executive director Tom Henson, who is also the morning news anchor at Starved Rock Media’s 103.9 WLPO Radio Station in La Salle. He will work to raise awareness of Mendota’s three museum sites and manage the day-to-day operations of the society.
