It's the holiday season, and flavors of orange juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice mean that the Metal Monkeys have been squeezin this season.  They are proud to present, Imperial Tis the Squeezin.  It's the big version of their Christmas inspired Gose.

6 cans and one full glass of Heavy Squeeze from Alter Brewing Company

The Juice is Worth the Heavy Squeeze

"The juice is worth the squeeze," is a great line from the movie The Girl Next Door.  An if you have never had a brew from Alter Brewing Company, they put their heart and soul into each beer.  Heavy Squeeze is a crisp lemon wheat, smooth and sweet.  And, check out the new label.

Glass of Strawberry Lupulin City

Milkshake IPA with a Strawberry Beret

I know the Prince song is Raspberry, I just can't think of a better title.  We're big fans of Lupulin City from MyGrain Brewing in Joliet.  They just released a new variant.  This variant was brewed with Mandarina Bavaria, Azacca, Simcoe and Cashmere hops.  And, you know what the first thing you'll taste when you drink this one ... you could say the first flavor on the top (hence the Beret reference).  Strawberry.  They added a ton of strawberries and lactose to make this beer truly tasty.  It's a limited release - so make sure to get down for Strawberry Lupulin City Milkshake IPA today!

Tall glass of Jacob's Ladder underneath the tap at Mad Hatchet Brewing

I'm Going with a Scary 80's Reference

Mad Hatchet is known for scary-good beers with references to scary things.  Jacob's Ladder is a scary-good cream ale... it was the first beer I had when the brewery when it first opened.  Definitely recommended.

So, the question of the day --- what does Jacob's Ladder refer to?

Glass and can of Belgian Golden Strong, in front of canning equipement

A Tasty Belgian at Miskatonic

I personally am a huge fan of Belgian beers - something about the spice in Belgians really captures my taste buds.  Miskatonic is back with one of their tasty foundational beers, Belgian Strong Golden, with enough twists to make it unique.  They started out with a base of Belgian Pilsner malt, Belgian Candi Sugar, and Belgian yeast.  These combine to provide lively dought malt characteristics terminating in a complex dry snap of citrus, spice, and subtle fruit sting of high alcohol.
