Holiday Owl Hike

27064 S. Dutton Road Beecher, IL

Dates: Dec. 29, 2020
Times: 4pm - 6pm
Location: Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, 27064 S. Dutton Road, Beecher, IL

Owls are so interesting and cool, but how much do you really know about the ones in our area? Join Plum Creek Nature Center staff to find out which owls call Illinois home as well as the ones you are likely to find in the preserves and in your neighborhood. After we discuss which owls are around, we will head out on a hike to see if we can hear them. Because it gets dark so early in winter, this is a perfect time to walk the woods in search of owls. This program will also be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, and Wednesday, December 30. Fee: Free! Age: All ages. Registration required by Monday, December 28, by calling 708.946.2216 or online: https://apm.activecommunities.com/.../holiday-owl-hike/7326 Be sure to dress for the weather. The hike may be up to 2 miles long on uneven trail surfaces. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with...) no later than 48 hours before the program.
