During May, songbirds migrating from South America and Central America are passing through our area on their way to breeding grounds in the forests of Canada. They use forest preserves as stopover spots to rest and refuel. Join us in celebrating World Migratory Bird Day and learn the secrets of birds' extraordinary journeys during guided hikes, activities and presentations. If you want to put your birding skills to the test, join our Bird Bio-Blitz and Big Day Competition from 8 to 10 a.m. Guided hikes and activities will begin at 10 a.m., 11.a.m, noon and 1 p.m. Registration is required to participate in the Bio-Blitz, Big Day Competition and hourly hikes.
