Join us for a women's camping weekend to connect with nature and friends new and old! Take time to unplug and enjoy the outdoors with camping, hiking, evening campfires, camp cooking, outdoor skills, mindfulness activities and more.

This three-day, two-night campout is held in a safe, supportive atmosphere with cheerful staff. No experience is necessary. The weekend will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and will conclude at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 2. Bring your own tent; sleeping bag and pad; flashlight; camp chair; and water bottle. All other shared group camping equipment, including firewood, will be provided. Registration includes Saturday dinner and light breakfasts Saturday and Sunday. Please bring food for Friday's dinner, as well as lunches, snacks and beverages, which may include wine and beer.

A packing list, menu and weekend itinerary will be provided prior to the program. If you do not have camping gear, the Forest Preserve offers a limited amount of camping gear on loan. If you need loaner gear, inquire by calling 815-727-8700.

This program will be held in a primitive campground with a port-o-john restroom and hand-pumped water access. No bathhouse or indoor restrooms will be available. This program requires group participation, including meal preparation and cleanup, setting up group equipment for activities and social time with other participants.

This program takes place entirely outdoors on natural terrain and will be held rain or shine. Our staff will be monitoring for severe weather. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
